BUILD THINGS BETTER
After working at a couple agencies and seeing the local design climate in Tallahassee I made a decision to leave my position and build Foremost, a creative collective that would consist of myself and my many friends around the country. Together we are a remote agency that works with select clients big and small, builds products, and grows communities and the city around us.
The Foremost badge and name is a nod to our history in the city. One of our four partners lives in the renovated 5,500 square foot site that was once the Foremost dairy factory. After delving into the city archives, I crafted a badge featuring the old building's former facade.
BEFORE THE LAUNCH
Holly Weinrauch and I went to raided a few dust collectors around town to make sawdust type to act as a landing page for our site pre-launch. It ended up getting featured on Dribbble's shot block. We also released this awesome gif field after our staff photos were taken.
The Foremost site features our two first case studies and the lovely faces of our "Friends of Foremost" that we can list on our site (not everybody can be listed).
HAPPY MOTORING GAS STATION
Our first property, an old Esso gas station, is currently in redevelopment. To kick off the project, we held a little get together with the community to ask them what they wanted the space to be.
The property itself is located in the south side of TLH, where the culture is adjusting to new developments in the area. When looking in the archives, one can really get a feeling for what the area used to feel like. The archive photos and ephemera from the old Esso brand are inspiring us for the redevelopment, and give us insight into how to repurpose the structure and celebrate it.
